After the success of I Want the Moon at MusAB – Museo Astronomico di Brera in 2024, Luca Ballestra and Vonnight (Eleonora Rovatti) return with a new project inspired by the artist’s textured works. This time, the Moon will not only be the protagonist but will become a living, luminous body, reflecting light as it does in the night sky and creating a dreamlike, timeless atmosphere.
Thanks to the collaboration with Quadruslight, the installation comes to life through a mixed-media technique that combines a painted intervention on a radiant fabric with an advanced LED backlighting system, allowing the Moon to shine in an immersive environment. Walking toward the Moon, observing its textured details, and immersing oneself in its light will be key elements of an installation that blends art, design, and science, transforming the exhibition space into a dimension suspended between dream and reality.
With the display of historical materials from INAF – Osservatorio Astronomico di Brera, MOON WALK will connect the history of lunar explorations with artistic perception, offering an evocative journey that guides visitors through its surfaces and suggestions—a voyage through art, technology, and space.
The installation
The MOON WALK installation will merge the history of lunar explorations with the artistic perception of our satellite. A carefully designed lighting system will allow the Moon to shine as if it were in the sky, offering an emotional journey that guides visitors through its surfaces and suggestions.
“We want to offer a moment of contemplation and wonder, an opportunity to rediscover the Moon with new eyes,” say Luca Ballestra and Vonnight.
